1/2 c. Butter
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. Flour
1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
Cream sugars with butters; add egg and vanilla, then dry ingredients. Refrigerate 1/2 hour.
Roll into 1 inch balls and press with bottom of glass dipped in sugar.
Also makes a good cutout dough. Bake at 325 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes.
