Carol's Gingersnaps by Lisa H.

3/4 cups shortening
1 c sugar
1/4 c Grandma’s Molasses
1 egg
2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp each cinnamon, ginger, and crushed cloves

Heat oven to 375.  Mix shortening, sugar, molasses, and egg until fluffy.  Add dry ingredients.  Shape dough into small balls and roll in sugar until coated.  Place on greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.  Take out when they still look raw and leave on cookie sheet for 10 minutes or until cool.
